Youth and Life
By Lyla

The tree quivered in the breeze,

Like a frightened child.

It’s limbs flailed in the wind,

A silent plea for help.

The wind blew and blew,

And finally the tree could take no more.

The tree gave way,

Cut down in it’s youth.

It’s cry the sound of splintering wood.

It fell to the and ground,

Seeking shelter under the canopy of leaves.

Waiting,

For the storm to pass.

And the tree waited,

In that desolate forest

For time to come.

And for life,

To begin again
